In this field, too, research and development of new procedures have greatly improved the potential results of surgical treatment. Some examples of such procedures and techniques are minimally invasive &#8220;keyhole&#8221; surgery and arthroscopy, as well as the use of modern bio-resorbable implants, headless screws, and angle-stable thin plates, which are less intrusive in terms of their effects as foreign bodies. In addition, new ground has been broken in joint preservation, replacement, and immobilization procedures.
