The Foot and Ankle
Causes of pain and loss of function in the foot and ankle include accidents, congenital diseases, and phenomena of aging. In this field, too, research and development of new procedures have greatly improved the potential results of surgical treatment. Some examples of such procedures and techniques are minimally invasive “keyhole” surgery and arthroscopy, as well as the use of modern bio-resorbable implants, headless screws, and angle-stable thin plates, which are less intrusive in terms of their effects as foreign bodies. In addition, new ground has been broken in joint preservation, replacement, and immobilization procedures. Through continuing development, cooperation within a network of foot and ankle surgery specialists, and additional domestic and international teaching activities, we at the etzelclinic offer our patients the highest international standard in foot and ankle surgery.
